Air Care Solutions, Cleaning company takes advantage of 85 year old women living on fixed income

My 85 year old mother saw an ad for air duct cleaning stating $23.00 for the job. She simply asked for an estimate and they showed up at her home and started the job immediately. When she asked what the $23.00 included they said all the ducts in the 2 bedroom condo.

They only removed one vent cover in the living room and vacuumed for a short while. They then walked around asking questions about her dryer, hot water heater etc.
They charged her $428.00 and gave no itemized receipt.

We checked the dryer and it was never moved and the vent still dusty, we checked the other duct covers and they were undisturbed.

We called and asked for basic information and their answer was "She Signed"

Googling them reveals several company names sharing the phone number 877-800-0597
other numbers they use, 866-544-duct (866-544-3828), 561-655-6777,
305-376-8777 and 954-921-7373.

The BBB has a very nice write up on this company as well as this site and other consumer complaint sites. Apparently my mother was not the only person blatantly ripped off so do your homework and you will save a lot of time and trouble.
