I was injured on the job on august 31st 2009. My former employers insurance company offered me a $60,000 settlement. I needed more money for the settlement (expensive surgery) so i hired attorney darwin f. Johnson. The reason i hired him was because he told me he could get me $120,000.
As time went on i realised that he was no working as hard as he said he would and it was taking a reall long time to get a igger settlement.
Darwin f. Johnson was eventually able to add $10,000 to my initial settlement offer of $60,000, making the settlement $70,000. I told him to get more money but he claimed that the insurance company was not going to give any more money. I asked him about the $120,000 he promised to get me and he just said "$70,000 is $70,000 is $70,000. The isurance company won't budge"
He agreed to only take a $2,500 fee on the settlement because he only made $10,000 of the settlement (25% of what he made for me)
He agreed to this via email (which is a binding contract):

Bottom line, I will agree to $2,500.00 in fees. The DC MRI Bill was reduced to $1,100.00 from $1,895.00 and Dr. Kim reduced his bill to $170.00 from $340.00. You will have to pay those bills which will total $1,270.00. This will leave you with $66,230.00. I will be out of the office most of the day and next week as well. I fired darwin johnson and he placed a lien for $17,000 on my settlement.
So after he knowingly made an agreement to $2,500 in fees he placed a lien on my settlement for more than he is entitled too.
Do not trust this guy.
