Habbas Nasseri Law Firm, Bad Business Practices

This is a personal injury firm. My main complaint with this firm is bad bad business practices and suspected fraud.

I have a medical lien on one of their cases which should have settled. Habbas Nasseri law firm never had the courtesy to advise me of the status of the case over the last year, unless I made calls to them months after the case settled. When I did speak to the main paralegal, I was given the same standard, meaningless reply of "the case is still pending." I said OK, and patiently waited for months. No updates. Finally, I call expressing frustration for the first time. The representative claims that the client is "holding up payment as she thinks my bill is too high."

I smell a rat. The case is your typical, straight-forward personal injury case where the at fault party is not in question and there is significant property damage (according to the law firm). I took the last communication from them to be a dubious delay tactic. Have they settled the case already, cashed out and plan to offer me a reduction of my bill after starving me out for a couple of months? I don't know for sure, but the circumstances of the case, particularly their unwillingness to communicate and failure to return my calls lead me to believe this.

My advice to those who are looking for a personal injury attorney and ran across one of their ads is to look somewhere else. It is not worth the risk. There are much better ones out there; I know this for a fact.
