Idearc Promised a lot, did "nothing", billed everything

I came across Ripoff's website quite by accident while researching "Supermedia". Wish I would have done this prior, but it is Verizon, and thought we could trust in that name. However, Supermedia is a complete ripoff, I have never, in all my years of business ever come across such a scam by a major company and (and I know Supermedia is not Verizon), but Verizon continues to utilize them for advertising so I have to believe there is some type of connection.

We signed a contract with Supermedia to supply a website, oh believe me their rep had the gift of gab and a great poker face. She talked up a great game, but 6 months later and after numerous phone calls, still no website. Now the billing begins and has continued to this day along with harrassing and threatening phone calls.

Someone please explain to me why these people are still in business, and why has noone stopped them from committing fraudulent practices against consumers. Charging for services "never" delivered and then billing, charging late fees and threatening collection proceedings for something they never did just baffles my mind.

I intend to inform the BBB and the governor of my state. Someone has to stop or at least try to stop these people.
