National Mortgage Help Center
Williams Litigation Center scammed me into a fee for a loan modification that never happened

Shops, Products, Services

My complaint is based on a mortgage modification that I had put in for through the National Mortgage Help Center. I had lost my employment back in June of this year and I was looking for a way to reduce my mortgage payments, so I applied for this program, which is handled through a law firm, Williams Litigation Center. I submitted all required documents and was told that based on the information and documents submitted that I qualified. It was explained to me by a WLC representative, Ms. Sarah St. John that the process would take approximately 90 days from the time all the documents were received to the completion on the modification. I was also required to pay 1,900.00 dollars to the lawyer, Jennifer Williams for a Forensic Audit that I have yet to see the results of. I was also told by WLC that my first modified payment would have been due on 01 September.in or around August time frame, I was assigned a negotiator from WLC, Tia Patrick, who would be my point of contact during the remainder of the modification process. To make a long story short, it is now almost December and I still have no modification, and cannot get in contact with anyone from WLC. I have left numerous voicemail messages with no response. The last conversation I had was with another WLC representative, Rick Nelson, who had explained that he would personally look into my situation. I spoke with Mr. Nelson approximately 2 weeks ago, and since have tried to get in contact with him via phone with no results. I feel that this whole process was a fraud just to take my money. I have a VA guaranteed loan through Freedom Bank, which at the time I applied for the modification was current on mortgage payments. Now I have fallen 3 months behind because I was also told that I did not have to make any payments during the modification process, which should have been completed in September. I have received numerous collection and foreclosure letters from the bank because of this and have been told not to worry that this is the process and that it is just a scare tactic to get the borrower to pay. I served in the US Navy for 26 honorable years and never have I felt so deceived. I wonder how many others service members or honest citizens have depended on WLC, thinking that they were being represented by an honest law firm, instead were only being taken advantage of and put in a worse financial situation then when they started.
