Angela Jones Beware! Horses are misrepresented

After searching many weeks on many horseselling websites I came across this advertisement about this wonderful family safe horse and what appeared to be a reputable, professional sounding farm. Thundercreek Farm (Angela Jones 615-286-1696). She required a non-refundable deposit of 1/2 the price and balance within 3 business days. Although, very unsure about this, I realize many people will say they want a horse and never show up, so I did send the money to hold this supposed to be wonderful, perfect horse for me because we live about 500 miles away and could not get there for a few days and she also said there were several people very interested in him. We told her we could come to Lebanon to pick him up, but she said she had something to pickup in Birmingham, and someone woud meet us there with the horse.

When the horse stepped off the trailer, I was shocked and disappointed, he was much smaller than I was expecting according to her description in the advertisement. Her advertisements stated: 14.1 hands tall - He is about 13.3 hands tall; 1050 lbs. - he was thin, about 780 lbs., and has gained up to about 830 lbs. Now; 10 years old - our vet said he is about 15 years old; beginner/family safe/safe for anyone - He rears and kicks up when trying to leave the barn area, he does not want to stand still out on the trail and will rear a little, he turns in circles when trying to mount.

Her contract stated if we did not want the horse we had a one week period that she would exchange the horse for another one. We called her the next day to tell her we did not want the horse and she said she would look for another one for us. I saw on her website that she had several advertised that we would have been interested in but she never contacted us about them and the horses were sold. She went for several weeks where she would not answer her phone or we would be hung up on while talking and our emails did not go thru. I finally sent a certified letter with a return receipt which the letter was returned unable to deliver. After searching on the internet I learned that there have been others that had the same experience with Angela Jones. I would have filed a small claims judgement, but she has no job and I would just have more money out of my pocket, so all I can do is warn others and try to sell this horse.
