Contineous attempts to charge my check account for advertising i cancelled within 24 hours

I was contacted by a very pleasant and nice young lady, Bobbie Gardner on 8/6, from the Claims Page stating that she represented numerous Insurance Adjusters that hire contractors to do insurance work. After a lengthly conversation, she convinced me to run an ad in their listing book that is distributed to ALL the insurance adjusters, and that this ad could be paid for in 3 payments. I initiated the first payment with her via a phone ACH debit from my checking account. After hanging up with her, and feeling somewhat unsure of my decision I decided to investigate more on the Claims Pages on the internet andf found quite a lot of negative consumer complaints regarding the company, which made me feel even more uncomfortable. I immediately tried to call back Bobbie to request that she provide me with contact numbers of some of her satisfied customers, but could not get past their message center. So I faxed over a request to cancel the ad, all within a 24 hour period. The next business day, I again tried to contact Bobbie Gardner and could only get her answering service, so I faxed over the same cancellation letter requesting someone contact me. Nothing happened. On 8/12 Claims Pages processed a charge of $300 against my checking account. Again I tried to contact her, but was routed to another senior officer of the companies voice mail. I left a message for someone to contact me, again no response. So I filed a dispute with my bank who reversed the charges. But today 9/28, I see that my bank reversed the credit. After contacting my bank they informed me that they recieved information from the Claims Page stating they supplied me with an Ad to proof ajnd never received any cancellation request. So I called Bobbie Gardner, who asked me to hold on while she investigated this. I was then connected to a man who immediately informed me that he didn't care that I wanted to cancel the initial down payment and was not going to credit my money back. Basicall saying to me "too bad" you didn't investigate us better before you signed on.

My initial cancellation was to allow me more time to contact previous users of the service to find out about thier experience with this company. Once I received some positive feedback I was planning to move forward with the ad. But now after this experience with this Rip-Off company, and never being supplied any contacts to question, I would never want to run an ad with them. The people that run this company do not care about the contractors they are trying to get to use their service, all they care about is gettng the money!

Do not use this service - claims pages - beware - bad business people!!
