Great salesperson, big con - wanting thousands of dollars for advertisement

On June 11 I received a phone call from a young man who was a GREAT salesperson. He talked me into spending $149.00 for one year of internet support, a custom web site, a deluxe email account, hosting and site maintenance, processing and activation. If that all happened, it would be a great deal, especially since this is a discount from the$499.99 price their paperwork said they usually charge.in any case, I put out the $149.00 and promptly received phone calls from several people, Gabe, Greg, Megan, to name a few. All but Megan tried to talk me into spending thousands of dollars for advertising. When I said I don't have money, Greg acted like I was the con-artist and got belligerent with me.
I sent out one of their "green cards" to a couple I know that has some money and is energy conscious. They said that it sounded good, but was way too expensive.
I have since spoken with Megan a couple of times and she said that I can send the green cards out to anyone for free and that I can write off the $149.00 expense at the end of the year for taxes as a business expense.
In short, I believe the product can do some good, but it is overpriced and very difficult to market in the current economy.
