Good coverage means no coverage - overages charged when calls are dropped resulting in minutes

1. Ordered a phone off the internet with a two year contract.
2. Got phone and activated - no bars.
3. Went outside - no bars - checked the internet to verify coverage - coverage is excellent
4. Called sprint. They told me i had to buy a phone for 50.00 on my insurance deductible. I debated. They said they needed to send a tech out. I waited. No coverage a wee, two go by.
5. Called sprint. They tell me to troubleshoot phone, again with tech supoort which i had done 3 times. Then tell me a tech needs to check serivice area. I debated.
6. No coverage, 3 kids and pregnant housewife with no phone!
7. After long debates they agree to send me duplicate phone, maitaining i have "excellent"coverage in my area. Wait a week, no phone shows up. Call sprint. The re-order phone. My 30 days pass, phone ahows up. Charge it up no coverage!!!
8. Call sprint they tell me i have one option left, cancel and pay the 200.00 cancellation fee and send back device (keep in mind i have paid them for 2 months of service at this point - which i never got!
Can anyone tell me if this is legal? Is this how we are surving these days? The econmy gets bad and evryone seems to rip off everyone everywhere to get by - even a reputable company - help - i am scared to get a phone and refuse to pay sprint another dime... I have been using a trac phone from the grocery store in order to call sprint!
