I have been getting very HARASSING calls at work, for the last 6-9 months. I have had several different people, names, and "companies" calling me from all different states. They claim to be "investigators" or "lawyers" from CashNet. They always claim that if I do not send them some money that same day, that I will go to jail. They say they are going to "process" it at the end of the day and that someone will come up to my place of employment and arrest me.
I did take a payday loan, but that was all the way back in and it is now 2010. I offer to set up a payment plan, and they tell me that I cannot do that. They tell me no checks, cash, or money orders will be accepted, only account to account transfers. This seems very fishy to me. They are always very rude. I ask for account numbers, badge numbers, or company names, and they always "beat around" giving me such information. I know that it is illegal for them to KEEP calling my job making these threats. They have even asked to talk to my supervisor, gotten nasty with our receptionist, and even went as far as getting my mother's number and called her house. Please beware that these practices are illegal. I know this is not right, but I am unsure of how to make it stop. I can end up getting in trouble at work because of HOW MUCH they call. Any advice would be well appreciated. Thank you.
