Jeff Bassinger Door Hanger Flyers found in gutters and trash

My wife owns a small business that caters to homeowners. She was approached about advertising on Cowtown Door Hangers flyers and it seemed a good idea at the time however a buddy of mine who owns a home in the targeted neighborhood found handfulls of the flyers in the storm drain near his home and also in a dumpster at the neighborhood convienience store.

After some checking I found out the company that actually delivers the flyers for Cowtown uses day laborers to distribute the flyers. It is claimed that all crews are supervised. Well, they must supervise them from afar if the laborers have ample opportunity to just chunk the flyers in storm drains and dumpsters.

We know some of the flyers made it to the doors but certainly not what was promised.

I did a little more research on Cowtown and found it is owned by a Jeff Bassinger who according to TX DPS records has been convicted of Burglary of a residence, Burglary of a vehicle and has several drug convictions as well.

Since the company website claims membership to the Chambers of Commerce for Arlington, Mansfield, Lewisville, NE Tarrant County and Saginaw it is my assumption none of these Chambers even bother to background check the companies they allow to join. As long as a company pays their dues who cares if they are owned by convicted felons?

We are chalking this experience up to live and learn but hope this helps others in the DFW area that are considering using this company.
