Sold me a dog with Addisonians disease

My husband and I drove from Long Island to Virginia to purchase a standard poodle from the breeder mentioned above. He cost $1000.00. When he turned 2 years old, he became very sick and almost died.By the evening he was so lathargic he could not move. I carried him to the hospital (all 72lbs of him) and they put him on IV.

He eventually was sent to a specialist who finally diagnosed him with Addisonians disease. I learned it is inherited from his line. We love our Simba so much. When he was diagnosed it broke our heart... Not to mention our bank account.

This disease will never go away but is treatable and very expensive. Within three weeks his treatment skyrocketed to $6000.00. Since my husband and I just bought a new home, we didn't have any money. I had to work nights just to pay our mortgage. For the rest of his life the costs is $80.00 a month to treat him with the medication and care he needs to survive.

I called Lynn Estaver and advised her of the situation. She acted shocked. I asked her for a $1000.00 refund on Simba to help in our debt. She said no, and that she only covers costs up to one year in age. I wrote her a letter saying if she did not refund me the money I would report her to the AKC, better business bureau, and the local newspapers. She then requested copies of the bills so she can contribute.

Instead of getting her check in the mail, she sent me a letter asking me to do two things. One, I must apologize for my hostility in my initial letter, and two, I must promise that I will never write or speak slanderous statements about her in the future. Then she said she would be willing to make a contribution. The amount she had in mind is still unkown.

It's not about the money anymore. She has to be out of her mind to think I would apologize to her after she sold me a dog that has this disease. I went to her instead of a "puppy mill" because I thought I was getting a healthy dog. Don't purchase puppies from these people. That's all I have to say. She got her $1000.00, and I have my poor sick dog.
