Ripoff

I have been a Fingerhut customer for 8 years. We moved from California to Las Vegas 9/01. While qualifying for a home loan we discovered that our Fingerhut Account was showing deliquent 90 days and monthly charges being billed to our account.

I contacted customer service and found out that Fingerhut sold the account to Axsys National Bank and they show record of returned statement un-deliverable. We had all of our mail transfered to our new address. I told them we should not be responsible for their error on not transferring our correct address and I gave them our new address and phone number.

The collections customer service started calling every nite insisting of payment and we sent payment of $200 to bring account up to date and they continued harrassing us and we again paid so we would not have a deliquent/late charge on our credit report. Then we receive around 5 months of statements all at the same time with incorrect balances - again I contact customer service and they told me this is what their record shows and we are obligated to pay and we are also responsible for not contacting them when we did not receive payment.

Sept 4 I sent total amount to close account and pay balance in full. I contacted Fingerhut and was told to send payment to St. Cloud MN address. I have been receiving phone calls every nite from collections stating I am late and deliquent on my payment and I have told the situation to them over and over and it is never documented. I call the mgr at Axsys National Bank and was told to stop payment on the check because it was sent to the wrong address and they do not re-route the mail.

Now I have a large check lost that should of paid off my account and I am having to contact the escrow company to request stop payment with an additional charge and hope that they will re-issue a new check so I can clear this up and be done with Fingerhut!!!

After reading the other rip off complaints - I realize I was not the only one!
