Pressler & Pressler
They did not close out a judgement on that was paid. I only found this out when a Title search was done for us to sell our home. I received a bill from them in (Sept?) 1996

I received notice from Pressler & Pressler in 1996 that I owed for a car that had been totaled in 1989. My daughter was hit by a person that ran a stop sign in 1989. She retained a lawyer and he handled the case. Unknown to us my car being paid off was not resolved in the lawsuit. When I received the notice from Pressler & Pressler I called and they gave me so many days to pay this bill. Almost $6,000. Within a week I sent them $2800. And by December 1996 I paid the balance. I called several times asking for a payoff receipt and never followed through to get it. It is now 2009 and I have just learned through a Title search to sell our house that Pressler & Pressler never cancelled the judgement. I now have to figure out what to do. I have my bank searching my statements from 1996 for a copy of the check and I also have my refinancing sheet showing that the balance was paid by December 1996. Please if anyone has an answer to my situation please respond as we are to settle on the house on December 18th, that is if this judgement doesn't halt the closing. Thank you for listening to my story.
