Does Not Pay His Sub-Contractors / Tells Stories & Lies

Jonathan Davis of Davis Services, LLC contracted me to install tile in the home of one of his clients. I started the job on 10/6/09 and completed it on 10/10/09 and the home owner paid Jon, which he promptly went to the bank and cashed the check. (I know this because the homeowner told me this.)

Jon than promised to pay me later on Saturday (10/10/09). Then Saturday turned into Sunday, Sunday turned to Monday and here it is 53 days later, and I'm still waiting to be paid. The amount is $2,138.00.

Also, I have a signed statement from the home owners where the work was done, that says they are completely happy and satisfied with my work and the installation of the tile. I also know that the home owner has called Jonathan several times asking him to pay me too.

On 11/9/09 he said that he finally had the money to pay me and to meet him at the bank near my home. Well, he never showed up and when I called him, he said he "forgot to meet me". On 11/12/09 He called and told my wife that he put a check in the mail and of course it hasn't arrived. I've stopped calling him because all I get are lies from him.

I've even had this issue with Jonathan posted twice in the Orlando Sentinel in Greg Dawson's consumer column.

I've filed a lien on the home owner where the job took place last week and now I noticed that his website is gone, as well as his wife's business website, which causes me great concern. I'm thinking that he's probably changed his email addresses, phone numbers and possibly fled the area.
