Ben Surber, Tamsyn Surber puppy mill, puppy was infested with ear mites, puppy was really dirty and stank, puppy's veterinary records were phony

We adopted a puppy, a Yorkie-Poo, from the Surbers and had nothing but trouble. Delivery of the puppy was delayed several weeks after we had paid the adoption fee in full due to various situations that may or may not have been truthful reasons for delay of shipment. There was a new excuse each week which led us to believe we were being scammed. When we alerted the local authorities in Appalachia, VA (who were very helpful I might add) to inquire about the validity of Mr. Surbers claims, a flight was miraculously scheduled for the next day.
When we did finally did receive our puppy, he was very dirty and smelled horrible. We understand that he might have made a mess in the crate during the flight and ride home, and expected he would need a bath, but it was as if he was living in a barn for the past few weeks and had never been washed! The very next morning, our vet told us he was infested with a bad case of earmites. Also, the paperwork from the Surber's Vet that was a requirement and supposedly another reason for many delays in the flight relevealed that there was no record on file in the nationwide database for any veterinarian of this name.in addition, there was no record in this paperwork that stated the puppy had any immunizations or injections of any sort whatsoever; another lie by these puppy mill hillbillies.
We do love our new puppy, and fortunately he is happy and healthy. However, don't buy a puppy from these people, Surber K-9 Kennels, and consider finding a puppy to adopt from a local and reputable breeder, the internet is great for ordering books and dvd's but not for puppies!
