Charge Card Support Line Refuses Phone Payments Without Late Fees

Their Customer Support Line for AE Clear Card, American Eagles Charge Card, is based in some foreign country. The majority of the call center speak poor English at best.

I sent a check from the wrong account and when I called to have them void the check and pay by Credit Card they said they couldn't do that and that they didn't take payments over the phone.

The only way to pay by phone would be if the account was past due, at which point they add 20-50 dollars in late charges and interest fees. The company is living in the dark ages of customer service and making money off it.
