I too believe that there is virtually no value in this service. I have been on "The Ladders" since January and have never received any response from over 20 submissions. I am well qualified for all of the jobs to which I applied. Most all of these jobs I have found listed on other non-pay sites as well. Many of the jobs I do not believe actually exist. This is happening more and more with sites such as this. Non-existent jobs or re-listing of jobs from other sites that are already filled is prevalent among job sites these days. Many of the jobs get "recycled" by simply changing the submission date so they keep moving to the start of the list.
I had my resume reviewed by professional HR managers who commended me on the excellent presentation. One is quoted as saying that my resume is the best she has ever seen. Yet, when I submitted it for review to The Ladders, they informed me it essentially was a disaster and needed a total re-write for a fee of hundreds of dollars. Needless to say, I did not use their resume service and do not recommend that anyone else do that either. Now, I also find that their "Turn Off Auto Renew' doesn't work either. It indicates that it will cancel your membership even though you have paid in advance for the coming month, not that keeping it will do any good.
I haven't been able to contact them as the only way to do it is through email which tries to create a whole new account even though I already have an account.
I think it is time for an investigation of the misleading information and out right fraud of billing for fake services such as these.
