Better at drinking and selling drugs than building anything

I hired JZ Construction to perform some work on my house. The first day of the project I was disappointed to arrive home and find the owner / operator of JZ Construction, John Zinda, drunk. A bin outside contained at least a dozen empty beer cans.
This "work ethic" continued daily. I started to complain to him because he was no more capable of constructing a straight line than of walking one.in the end, it was no surprise that the work appeared like it had been done by a drunk.
His solution to the poor quality? I returned home on the final day to find the work covered up by a facade - which I never wanted. The crappy work now looked a little less crappy, and he said he was no longer embarrassed by its appearance.
Much too late, I decided to see what kind of man I was dealing with, since he certainly doesn't seem to have much background in construction. I found that he is a convicted cocaine dealer. He also has an extensive history in the courts for harassment and domestic abuse. The only detailed report I read said the responding officer found his victim "bloody."
Needless to say, I'm not sure I want to press my luck trying to get my money back from this criminal.
Stay away from JZ Construction, or John Zinda under any other business name. And remember to do a background check on ANY contractor you will be doing business with. It is worth the trouble.
