This not for profit agency is not at all what it seems. They apparently benefit from public funds, but they are difficult if not impossible to deal with.
First of all this agency promises lots of things but does not deliver. Some of these items are refinancing of predatory home loans. Which they show on their website but when asked they do not have available at all. When we got to their workshop we were treated like ignorant children, subject to lectures and patronizing behavior and upon counseling with them they glossed over our situation and ignored our second mortgage outright as this is something they did not want to deal with or were unable to handle.
They do not, as promised, refinance any loans, and they appear to handpick certain people that fit their ideal of homeowners that need help. And then they brag about what a fabulous organization they are and tell lots of war stories to glorify their image. The rest of us they string along... in our case six months of wasted time, and no agent ever seems to know from one agent to the next what occurred in previous conversations, and they LOSE ALL PAPERWORK whenever faxed or sent. We sent the same paperwork over and over and over for six months, only to be told they never received our papers. Then after six months of wasted time they told us we did not qualify for their program. Their website has a section for attorney referrals by NACA. There are none in our state area on this website and as usual when you ask them they know nothing about any of it. Do not waste your time with these people.
