MP Movers NINE hours late, overcharged, lied about estimated charges

I had a very small apartment of furniture to move, so was excited to find that MP Moving promised to waive the typical three-hour minimum for me. They also stated that the hourly rate was all-inclusive, meaning there were no hidden charges.

The day of the move, I had everything out and ready to go at 1pm, when they were supposed to arrive. At 2pm, with no sign of the moving truck, I called to see what was going on. No one answered. Several tries later, someone picked up and proceeded to put me on hold for several minutes while they contacted the driver. They finally told me the truck was broken down and would be there asap.

Another couple of hours later, I called again. This time I was told that they were finishing up another move, and I was next on the list (which they either forgot to mention or lied about earlier). Many excuses and hours later, the truck showed up - at 9:30pm.

Not only were they almost nine hours late, but the movers claimed not to know anything about waiving the three hour minimum, and that I would have to pay it. They also lied about having no other hidden charges, because they proceeded to charge for both gas and mileage as well (both ways). I had to move out that day and it was too late to recruit friends to help me, so at that point I had no choice but to pay them what they demanded (in thick Russian accents).

MP Moving has no official office or website - they are a scam company that just puts ads on Craigslist. Avoid at all costs.
