Stopped payment on a check for services rendered and delivered. Refuses to pay for work performed

I responded to an ad on Craigslist.org for graphic design services. I drove to meet with Tammi Lotz, Links Marketing, Lencanto FL to interview for this contract design position. I was immediately given emergency work to do, as my capabilities and knowledge exceeded her expectations.

Two months of working with her and taking up a lot of my cell phone time, drive time to meet with her in person twice (4 hours round trip) with no reimbursement for that time or gas, she either bounced a check or stopped payment on the check for the amount of $270.00 for work I completed. I am waiting for the check to be delivered via US postal system. I did call to see if funds were available, and they are today, even though the check did not post to my account.

She now will not answer her phone, or respond to my emails.

She is not registered in the State of Florida as a legal business (www.sunbiz.com) as Links Marketing. She is not listed on the same site as a business owner, partner or registered agent.

I suggest any company that is approached by her for advertising and marketing services should think strongly against utilizing her services. She is dramatic, flighty and hard to deal with due to the simple fact that she has no idea what the printing industry requires to properly output files. She tries hard, but fails miserably, then steals the work of honest hard working designers.

I had a bad feeling that she was a bad apple, and I should have listened to my gut instincts. The amount of work I lost from not taking on other project work is well into the $1000.00's over a 2 month period, as she kept throwing problematic and emergency files my wayshe never intended to pay.

Beware of this woman and her company. She is nothing but a liar and thief.
