Fraud, non-payment, lied, cheated, stole, notary fraud

I have been SCAMMED by Sunset Signings LLC and Steve Encarnacion-Kilgore! I am a notary public in Michigan. I am listed on a number of notary databases. I was contacted by this company to perform two refinancing jobs in my local area back in June of this year. They sent me the clients loan documents, along with a mailing label to FedEx the items. Everything seemed very professional and Steve was very nice. I was told that payment usually comes within two weeks after the job.

After waiting 3 weeks, I called to find out how much longer the payment would be delayed. There was only voicemail. I left very detailed messages asking them to call me back and let me know when to expect payment. I also left inquiries on their website, and sent personal emails to their closing department, and accounting department.

After a while, I finally got an email from Jill in their accounting department saying that she would personally make sure my payment would be sent out the very next day and even offered to send me a payment confirmation from their system. This was on July 30. I have not heard a word from them since! I called again & left another urgent voicemail message, and then sent another email to Jill. I received an autoreply saying that they would be out of the office until today, August 10.

I have called and emailed today, and they are still not responding to my inquiries. I did not burn my gas, and go into total strangers homes just to NOT get paid. I am very reasonable and have allowed them multiple opportunities to rectify this situation if there is any misunderstanding. They have not responded and in my eyes have behaved very unprofessionally. There are many notaries who are just trying to earn a living and relying on this company to behave responsibly and honor their word.

I am filing this report to warn notaries not to be taken in by this SCAM. They give a very professional impression before the job is done, but when it is time to pay the notary, they totally disappear. DON'T BE FOOLED BY STEVE AND SUNSET SIGNINGS LLC! This is a scam to dupe notaries out of their services & time while steve and his company gets paid for the job and pays you nothing!!! I have wasted too much time and energy on this and just don't want anyone else to be taken advantage of.
