Beware of the practices of ICS Merrill

Beware of ICS Merrill, which is a Florida based investigative company. They are shady and are crooked all the way along with their part-time inexperienced investigators. I work with a national insurance provider that for some time was forced into assigning cases with this inexperienced group and was unhappy with all results. From day one, we had problems either it be one of their investigators contacting the claimant accidentally and giving them an update on their surveillance day thinking that they were talking to us or hurting us in court with video obtained invading the privacy of the claimant. There has been times that we would speak to one of their investigators about a surveillance that they had completed and we were billed for such day and the investigator would tell us that they had no idea what we were talking about. We were billed for that day; their names were on the report, why wouldn't they know, unless we were being billed for day's not worked.

Recently another member of our team assigned ICS Merrill another case which was on a worker's compensation claim. She explained to them that this was a high risk claim and to be very discreet with their investigation. Well, updates would come in everyday indicating that they videotaped the claimant active well within their restrictions. We were later contacted by an informant stating that ICS Merrill had done a lot of business with the claimant's attorney who worked both sides and advised us that ICS Merrill would contact the attorney for the claimant and update them on all scheduled days. We asked her how she would come to find out this information and she said that she was one of the girls that was taking phone calls from ICS Merrill and passing it along to the attorney of record. She said that she was finally tired of the practices of her employer and was now thinking of leaving them.

Don't become another victim of this company. We have since contacted counsel and are in the process of filing against this company with the attorney general's office and courts in our state as well as with Florida.
