Defrauding Freelancers

Challenge Publications, and its owner/publisher Ed Schnepf, have long been known to defraud free-lance writers by accepting and running their stories and then refusing to pay. Schnepf is assisted in his fraud by Susan Duprey, whose sole job seems to consist solely of promising irate writers that their "checks are in the mail."

At this moment Schnepf and his co-conspirators owe me in excess of $ money that Duprey promised in writing would be paid some eight months ago.

I strongly urge all free-lancers to avoid submitting stories to all of Challenge Publications' magazines (Air Classics, Sea Classics, etc.). I also urge all consumers to boycott all of the magazines, since Schnepf, Duprey and their accomplices not only defraud writers and intentionally violate copyright laws, they also routinely defraud advertisers and, in all likelihood, violate federal laws pertaining to mail fraud.
