Underhanded sales tactics - no chance to deny charges

In February I received a phone call from a very fast talking sales person from 411yellowpagedirect.com. She asked if I was an authorized agent to purchase for my business. I said yes. She then asked me to verify my address and phone number. Then she asked if my authorization was sufficient for the invoice and I said yes it was. She then said I would be receiving the invoice within 30 days and gave me a confirmation number for the call. I was fully expecting to receive an invoice that I could review the charges and deny them at that time. I did not receive this invoice until July with a letter attached saying that if it was not paid it would be sent to collections.

I called the company to explain what happened but they continuously said that I approved the invoice over the phone. I have received these types of calls before and am very careful to not approve purchasing items over the phone. I was never given the opportunity to accept or deny the charges.

This type of business practice is very underhanded (as I told them). I am so frustrated by this entire situation.
