Well Orchestrated Fraud by Sleepy Time Store Decatur Georgia

I ordered a blanket from Sleepy Time Store following their internet promotion for 'returning customers.' (I have ordered three items from them in the past.) This order was placed on April 27 and my credit card was charged the same day.

Approximately two weeks later, I received an email from the store, saying the item was on backorder and would not be available for another two weeks. I agreed to continue with the purchase. Three weeks later, I started an email and telephone campaign to find out the status of my order.

I have emailed them no fewer than seven times and I have left numerous telephone messages.initially, there was an operator to take the phone messages. Then, it went to an anwering machine. After that, the phone simply rang with no one answering. Now, the 800 number has a message that says, "the mailbox is full. Call back later." I have had absolutely NO responses to my emails and now, telephone contact is non-existant.

I have contacted Sleepy Time Store's supplier, Little Giraffe Blankets, who informed me that several people are complaining about Sleepy Time Store. I told their supplier that the store is still accepting on-line orders despite NOBODY being there to fulfill the orders. The supplier told me they are making every attempt to get the Sleepy Time Store to stop advertising the Little Giraffe products, as they are no longer an accredited distributor.

By the way... I have no recourse with my credit card as there is a 30 day time limit to file a complaint. When the Sleepy Time Store extended my shipment date due to a "backorder", I exceeded the time limit on my card to file a complaint and ask for a refund. Pretty slick of them, huh?
