KPN Publishing
Places Deceptive Help-Wanted Ads

Shops, Products, Services

KPN Publishing has been running ads... Not including that company name... Stating that they are looking for editors and writers to contribute to a new literary publication with substantial financial backing.

The ads state that those editors and writers selected to work for the alleged publication on a regular basis can expect to earn at least $800 per month for one weekly contribution.

The company leads applicants on a merry dance, referring them to newly-created pages on its website advancing through stages of the application.

Somebody from the company sends the applicants seemingly personalized e-mails, telling them that their work looks great and that they are among the top candidates being considered for the lucrative work.

Then, eventually, the company tells applicants that due to the numerous responses received to the ad, they must charge a $5 readers fee for one to advance to the next stage.

Anybody unaware should realize that there is nothing legitimate about this. It is not a contest, with the entry fee stated upfront. It is a hoodwinking, luring in victims by telling them they are being favored for job selection and then zinging them with "readers" fees.

All freelancers should be suspicious of anything having to do with KPN Publishing.
