Benefits ripoff cheated employees

I was informed recently that allot of people that were working for this company was laid-off. Yes allot of people out there must be saying well people get laid-off everyday but there is a story behind this. A friend of mind had me drive her to work. When we got there, people were standing outside, I am got out of the car and asked what was going on. There was a 1-800 number on the door basically stating that they were out of jobs, but it gets better, nobody from the company was informed no 2 week notice or even a two day notice just comes a said one day "hey guess what your all out of jobs". So they decided to call the 1-800 number it told them that the centers largest client is unable to meet financial obligations to the center so it seized all work to all centers that were located in the state, which was 3 centers and also in another state, which had one center. Now please anybody tell me that was so wrong and also they are not sure they could pay the representatives that should receive a pay check April 25 and also another in may. This company was a telemarketing place which sold pay-as-you-go cards for 219.94 now how do we know that the customers are really receiving what they paid for. Concerned? Dunseith, North Dakota
