Rip Off!

This company is not following the rules. For a complete list of rules as listed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors go to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors website. These are not just rules! They are the LAW! The law states that no person or business shall advertise as a contractor, Handyman, Painter, Roofer etc. Unless they list their ROC # or State not a licensed contractor. You may see some of the complaints briefly on a few search engines like Superpages.com, Yahoo local, etc. Till they have them errased.

My problem in dealing with this company is that they feel since it's their website they don't need to follow the law. All the clauses in the world won't save someone from getting seriously hurt if an unlicensed un bonded un insured contractor opperates in an un safe mannor and causes physical harm or even death to someone.

They say all contractors are pre-screened. I'm just saying that be sure and cross reference them with your local ROC. It maight just save you some grief and allot of money!

Now don't get me wrong. There are several good companies on their site. Not because of http://pros. Servicemagic.com / Mostly because there are some honest people out there and the owners of some of these companies are responsible enough to make sure they have everything in order and know what they are doing.

As well there are some honest un-licensed handyman out there too! Who don't go outside their scope of work. These guys are easy to find because they are responsible enough to write not a licensed contractor. It really is a simple phrase and there is no law in place that forbids them to aquire insurance. Some do.

So servicemagic Shame on you. We all need the money in these hard times. But there is no need to lag or cut corners just to make a buck at someone elses expense.
