John Herold, owner of A Herold Home Service in Odessa Florida is a LIAR, A THIEF and an individual with POOR Morals and even WORSE BUSINESS PRACTICES.

Mr. Herold placed and ad selling an outboard motor in "EXCELLENT CONDITION". When an inquiry was made about the motor and its condition Mr. Herold insistently stated it was in EXCELLENT CONDITION and RAN PERFECTLY, he also stated in was only used by his son on the lake behind his home. When I informed him I was more than an hour away and didn't want to make the trip if it wasn't what he described.

He once again stated it was in EXCELLENT CONDITION and I would not be disappointed. After driving more than an hour to Mr. Harold home the motor was not as Mr. Herold described. Its over all appearance was as if it was left outside for 30 years and never cleaned. As I inquired more and more about the condition Mr. Herold continued to insist it was in EXCELLENT condition. When I asked him to run the motor he stated he could only run it for a brief second as it had bad gas and he didn't have the necessary water hook up to run it out of the water.

As I continued to feel more and more uneasy Mr. Herold continued to push the fact it was in perfect condition and I had little to worry with the motor other than needing new gas, SECOND MISTAKE, BELIEVING THE JERK! He provided additional assurance that if it didn't run to my expectation he would take the motor back and return my money. After taking my Herold for his word and loading up the motor I headed home.

When I put the motor in my garage to attempt to clean the gas from the carb I quickly noticed the fly wheel ability to spin every easily, indicating to me it had no compression. I immediately called Mr. Herold to advise him of the matter and make arrangements to return the motor. Upon calling Mr. Herold he provided a few explanations of why the motor might not have compression and how it could resolve it, It would be to lengthy and make him sound even more like an idiot if I went into detail with his suggestion, the guy must be a MORON.

I informed him I would look into his suggestion for a possible solution and if it didn't work I would bring the motor back, Mr. Herold Agreed with the solution..
Knowing his suggested solutions were a bunch of BULL SHIT and that he was obviously lying I immediately loaded the motor back up in my truck and headed back to his home to return the motor. When I returned to John Herolds home to return the motor he was obviously caught off guard and became extremely defensive for no apparent reason.

As I tried to explain to him, giving him an easy out, that he may not of known the motor was bad and we would just agree on a refund. Out of NO WHERE, Mr. Herold runs into his garage and comes out swinging a baseball bat, (OBVIOUSLY a very unstable guy), cursing and demanding I leave his property. After I insistently said NO Mr. Herold charged my self and my vehicle threatening to kill me if I didn't leave.

Feeling very threatened over Mr. Herolds instability and actions I immediately called the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office to restrain Mr. Herold for my safety. When the Sheriff's deputy showed up to Mr. Herolds home he became more threatening and unstable to the deputy and myself requiring the deputy to place Mr. Herold in Had Cuffs before being ARRESTED. While the deputy tried to insist Mr. Herolds provide his side of the story he continued to LIE to the deputy and fabricate parts of the confrontation that never occurred. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, When the deputy asked him whether or not he had a bat, he insisted he did not.

He went as far as to tell the deputy his wife was a witness and he had surveillance cameras that would prove his innocence. When the deputy questioned his wife she wasn't about to lie for him and told the deputy she didn't see anything that would clear him of the charges. He then insisted that the deputy look at the surveillance camera footage that he would hope would clear him. This guy is such the idiot moron, After the deputy reviewed the tape it clearly showed Mr. Herold swinging the bat he claimed he was never had.

The Deputy informed me that Mr. Herold was being arrested for Assault with a deadly weapon and the matter was now in the hand of the states attorney.

During my interaction with John Herold he claimed to have built John Travolta's Home, Shaq O'Neil's Home, ALL the Buccaneer Players Homes, George Steinbrenner's home and not to mentioned very home he lived in which he claims to be worth $4,000, 000.00, TRUST ME, by the looks of it, I wouldn't let the guy build a home out of my son's Lego's.
When I didn't a little simple research on what he claimed his home was worth I wasn't surprised he lied and is home was only worth about $900,000.00, a far cry from the lie's he portrays.
