Previously USWest, Qwest sells everyones phone numbers to solicitors, then sells services to block the solicitors. Victimized many consumers

I moved to the Phoenix area in late, 1999. I had phone service installed. It was Qwest.

There were an extremely high number of sales calls. I couldn't sleep early or take a nap on Saturday. Phone solicitation is horrid out there! I called, and they sold me servcies to help combat this. I paid $1.90 to be unlisted, per month. Also, I paid $9.95 for caller ID with privacy. I also paid $5.00 for call waiting ID. But the damage was done. My number had already been sold, by Qwest, to hundreds of local businesses. I had to change my number. Even then, I received an abnornmally high amount of solicitation calls. Plus, I was literally paying more for services combatting unwanted phone solicitors than for the service.

Local phone service = 13.61 per month, taxes and such
extra features to block sales calls = 16.85 per month taxes

Qwest is making money on both sides of the fence in this scenario. They pretty much owned the greater Phoenix area. But now they have some competition.

As for me, I told them to jam that phone service. And I will never do business with Qwest again. I suggest you do the same thing, eliminate your Qwest lines. I bought a Cricket cell phone. Others get phone through Cox now.

What's even more ironic is I am the Telecommunications manager at my work now. It just kinda fell in my lap. I have cut over 30 Qwest lines so far this year. This fact has nothing to do with my personal fellings. Right?
