Reservation Rewards - Reservationrewards.com Deceptive practice for obtaining monthly membership fees automatically charged to credit card

Shops, Products, Services

After making a purchase with etix.com I was signed up for a monthly "service" with reservationrewards.com that charged $10 month. I was told that I confirmed this by entering my email twice, but of course I do not recall this and I am sure there was some fine print there. These kinds of practices are deceptive and unethical.

I contacted the so-called service, reservationrewards.com. They agreed to refund $20 and sent me an affadavit to dispute the remaining fees. The affadavit reads like someone had to steal your card to sign up for the service. When you are making a transaction, say to buy tickets, and at the end you are told to enter your email address to confirm the transaction you think you are just completing the transaction. If you are going to add additional "offers" you need to make it REALLY CLEAR that they are authorizing a monthly fee. Fine print or a long paragraph that no one will read isn't good enough.

When I called reservation rewards their first option on the VRU was to cancel service or discuss payment... interesting that this is the primary reason people call this company.
