Payroll skimming, adding company reimbursements to drivers gross wages for taxation

I have been & am still currently an employee of Alabama Food Service in Prattville, AL. Formerly a Montgomery, AL trucking company, since June.

I went for 3 months last fall with NO paycheck. Simply living on advances to get by. I lost my home, my car, everything. But knowing times were tough for everyone, I was grateful to have a job & stuck with them.

What needs to be understood is that I run alot of miles. I do a trip to California & back almost every week. So, my gross wages are usually pretty nice.

Now I am back to making no Money. My employer says freight is cheap. Things should get better. I noticed about a month ago on my check stub above my gross trip wages for the week another amount. My payroll clerk said that its my reimbursements for the week.

It took me until today to fully realize the seriousness of what she had told me. They are adding their company reimbursements, which they are responsible for, and adding it to my gross wages and taxing the sh*t out of me to pocket the tax difference.

This is anywhere form $50 a week to $600 a week. Reimbursements for Lumpers, scales, tolls, truck & trailer repairs, etc.

Somebody is skimming, and I have talked to other employees who noticed it also.

Something needs to be done! Somebody please help. I need my money back!
