As an attorney, I cannot emphasize enough that no one should attempt to represent themselves in a divorce, especially if the opposing party has an attorney. Neither should anyone pay money to any company or person who is not an attorney to prepare divorce papers or any other kind of legal documents.

Although anyone has the right to represent themselves in court, the money you are trying to save today by representing yourself could end up costing you far more at a later time to fix a problem you never even thought about. And that's only assuming the problem can be fixed. You may think your divorce is simple but only by consulting with an attorney can you find out that your situation is far more complicated. Businesses like National Family Solutions that prepare legal documents but cannot give legal advice provide no valuable service to anyone. The best policy is to avoid anyone offering to prepare legal documents.
