I ordered a work-at-home instructional CD for $3.88 on the internet with my debit card and was charged $72.21 twice. Once on 2/6/09 and once on 3/7/09.

I received a call from the Fraud Division of my Credit Union yesterday morning concerning several suspicious charges to my checking account through my debit card. This is what alerted me to the internetinitiative.com charges.

I searched the company name on Google and was immediately led to usacomplaints.com. The MO was exactly the same except for slight changes in the company address and website address.

I will call the 888-657-8585 company number in the morning, but expect the same run-around that the other reporters have received. Then I will call the Credit Union Fraud Division with the end result information.

In a way, I was kind of lucky because the Credit Union Fraud Division disabled my debit card number before the second $72.21 payment was made. A minor inconvenience, but a good lesson well learned.

I will do everything within my power to make sure that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
