Fraud... No wonder why our countries deficit is falling by the wayside... When companies like Reservation Rewards based out of CT is out there stealing from innocent victims.
Last August I went on line to make hotel reservations to take my daughter out to college on the east coast. I made hotel reservations on line. I do not recall signing up for reservation rewards. If I did... Why would I want to pay a monthly fee for a service that does not exist? And if it does exist, why would I want it, need it, purchase it, and most importantly what have I gained from it?
I have no idea why I am being charged on my visa 12.00 a month for the past seven months (yes... I just discovered this fee today). I hadn't really looked over my statements that carefully. Last month I paid my credit card off so I looked to see that my balance was zero and NOW just noticed the fee being charged.
To recap... I do not know what service was given to me by this fraudulent company. All that I did last summer was make reservations at a couple hotels to drive my daughter out to school in CT.
In addition, I do not believe that I received a spectacular rate on line for my hotel stay (s). And now I come to find that I have paid and additional 84.00 for being a member of reservation rewards&FOR WHAT?
And... We all wonder why our country is in such financial ruin! Corruption is allowed and coveted in this country. I spoke to my visa company and suggested they do some of there own filtering to help safeguard their customers from this type of fraudulent activity.
What can be learned from this? Review your billing statements carefully and ask questions when something looks wrong. You would think that our computer systems are wired technology smart enough that credit card companies could do a better job of having their own filtering systems to catch fraudulent activity on consumer accounts or minimally flag the consumers attention when something is repeatedly charged without a monthly automated agreement signed.
