7/7 Internet Plan Is A Total Waste of Time/Effort

I saw the adverts for the new AT&T Worldnet/Internet Service. You are suppose to get both unlimited internet access and your residential long distance for only $7 per month.

You can't sign up and download directly from the net like you can with AOL. ATT has to send you a disc.

I changed my residential long distance from Qwest to ATT, arranged to cancel my AOL to pick up the ATT 7/7.

The disc arrived today at 10 A.M. Via UPS. I put it in and repeatedly got "The Key Code you have entered is invalid". I was told by various service reps & their tech support that by calling their 877 626 9531 number and choosing option #2 I could get someone at that number to provide me with a Key Code that worked.

When I finally got thru to this number/option I was told that this was incorrect and they would have to send another disc in 2-3 days. They could not tell me if the next disc would work or not. I told the guy just to cancel the account!

I have spent hours on the phone today trying to get to someone in their 7/7 management to let them know what a crappy job they are doing and how they are wasting my time. I couldn't get to anyone in any authority. All these people want to do is 'transfer' you to someone else and get you off the line (ie: you got the wrong number - I can't help you - I'll transfer you to this or that department).

The various operators at ATT claim they have no phone number to give out for their management offices and I should write to them in Berkley Heights, NJ. This is a phone company and they claim they have no phone number for their executive offices and you should 'write' to them! IDIOTS!

Hell will freeze over before I again use any ATT product or service. Now I have to change back to Qwest and AOL and have wasted two days dealing or trying to deal with ATT.

If you have any interest in this 7/7 program my advice to you is to lay down and take a nap, maybe when you wake up you will have forgotten about it. Don't waste your time with this bunch of loosers!
