I was trying to locate a mover to move my Mother from Debring to Fort Lauderdale. The move is minimal. A bed, chest of drawers, closet of clothes, 4 foot diameter table and 4 chairs, and minimal living room furniture.

I talked to a place in Fort Lauderdale that said $1280. (Based on my description of the contents.) Seemed OK since a similar move to Sebring 2 years ago cost $1200, but that mover no longer serves Florida. But I talked to another mover Browning) and described the contents. Jim told me $700 to $800. But John would go out and do a detailed estimate.

So John goes out and suddenly yhe estimate goes to over $1500!!! A glass insert coffee table is a major issue. Going up an elevator to the 4th floor is a big deal. Could this big increase be because my Mother is 90 and it looked easy to "take" her?

So back to trying to find an honest mover!!!
