Steve Ashworth Robbed me for $4000.00

I hired Steve Ashworth on 01/12/08 for 20,000 to completely redo a master bathroom, put new tile in another bathroom, install new kitchen floors, granite countertops and tile backsplashes and install engineered wood floors in my living room and den. He said he would want half the money up front and draws on the remainder until all work was complete and then a final payment. I gave him five thousand to start the job and by the 22th of December I had given him a total to 19,500.

I had him begin the master bathroom redo first. The travertine tile he used was very pretty but the workmanship was extremely sloppy and my husband had to correct a lot of the work. He finally finished the bathroom around the 21st of December.

During the bathroom remodel he also managed to have someone install the tile in the kitchen and the other bathroom and subcontracted out for the granite countertops. On 22 December he said that the wood floors could not be ordered until they were paid for in full. At this point I still owed him 4,500 and he somehow convinced me that I should give him four thousand to cover the cost of the floors.

On 1/7/09 I contacted him to see if the floors had come in yet and he said they had not and that he would contact me as soon as they did. I have talked to him one since then and had to initiate the phonecall. He told me the floors were in and that he would be over on the following Saturday to install them (1/17/09). He has since stopped taking phone calls from me and my husband and it's now apparent that we have been robbed for 4 thousand dollars.

I hope that posting this will keep someone else from getting ripped off. He does work all around the Metro and into Tulsa as well. He is a liar and a thief and is not to be trusted.
