Date-checker.com website LOOKS like a ripoff

I posted a personals ad on Craig's List. Was contacted by someone who asked to me to allow a background check by date-checker.com.

Date-checker.com asks for credit card info, ostensibly to verify my identity - including the 3 digit code on the back. They promise I will have no charges on my cc as a result. I didn't submit the info because it looked extremely suspicious as evidenced by:

1. Very amateurish extremely slow website, even with hi speed connection.
2. Request for credit card info on a non-secure server.
3. No parent company listed. No contact numbers.
4. They asked for a cc number, but no driver's license number. Wouldn't it be easier to confirm Identity with a driver's license?
5. The website has only been registered for 30 days (Dec)
6. The registrant is listed as Paul Dupont, 115 Audubon Ave, NYC, NY. The phone number however is a Louisiana land line. The zip code on the registration is for Great Neck, NY, Not NYC. 115 Audubon Ave, NYC doesn't appear to exist.
7. The web document is hosted on a me. Web.com server
8. I don't believe any company can check on my criminal history - at least not efficiently - from a credit card number.

I don't have any PROOF that the company is fraudulent, but it sure smells fishy. I've made the report a couple of other places, but I still don't see it being reported online.
