HARD to deal with. Taking advantage of Small Businesses. I was stupid. Don't DO it, TOO

I started a small business a few years ago and had to shut down because of the failing economy. When it came time to take care of my financial obligations such as credit card processing contracts, I tried to contact the company LFG and get a copy of my actual contract. NO such luck. I have requested time and again to get a copy. I recently closed the bank account associated with the debits they were taking for payment, because that was the only way to get them to stop. Now, I have no problem paying what I owe, but I STILL haven't gotten a clear answer on that. I am digging my way out of debt with a spoon, and I'm not going to continue to pay for credit card processing when my contract is up.

I called in to make a payment on my account, and had to leave SIX voice mail messages and threaten to go to the attorney general's office just to get spoken to by a human. And still that was only because I was persistent.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, Small Business Owner. Get credit card processing through a reliable BANK in your town. It may look like it costs more up front, but TRUST me, in the long run, having someone you can look in the eyes and get answers from is worth the money.

You cannot get them on the phone, you cannot get a CLEAR answer about contracts (I was assured that they would put my contract in the mail to me, but I never got it), and you cannot stop the harassment. They threaten lawsuits, and call all the time, but when you try to contact them, it's a no-go. If anyone is successful in filing a class action suit, please notify me. I would like to know if there is any action that can be taken against this company. I haven't had extra charges on my account, YET, like many others have, but I am getting the run around on returning equipment and their cloak and dagger method of doing business is frightening at best.
