I purchased an Abit IP-35 Motherboard several months ago. When I installed the board it had intermittent failures that I assumed was caused by faulty RAM. Upon testing the RAM, it tested bad. I replaced the RAM. Once again I received intermittent reboots and crashes. Once again I tested the RAM and it was trashed. Since I have 10 machines running the exact same configuration with the exact same motherboard, I pulled RAM from another machine and installed it on the motherboard. The RAM was immediately destroyed.

To make a long story short, the motherboard is faulty.

As an IT professional I carefully packed up the board, placed it in a box as specified on the uabit.com rma site and followed all of the instructions and sent it off for warranty replacement. About a week and a half later, I receive in the mail the same motherboard repacked in a different box. I could see by the serial number in my records that it was the same exact board.

I went back to uabit to submit an online admission to my RMA to ask what had happened. I received the automated return email stating that a technician would contact me. Two days later and nothing. I called the phone number listed on the site for the RMA department and got the phone company recording stating that the number is no longer in service.

Next I decided to visit the Better Business Bureau to see if I could find a real phone number and to check on their standing with them. Of coarse I found nothing but complaints about the company's atrocious customer service.

I found the main number to the company and called it. From there a computerized voice gave me the real extension to the RMA department which I had to hang up and call back. When I called the number, the phone rung about 20 times then a person picked it up, and hung it straight up.

At this point I was getting quite upset but I calmed down and called again. I let the phone ring about 35 times, and then I heard someone pick it up and click some buttons to transfer me to a computerized message stating that no one was available and to try back later.

I continued to call back for several days getting the same sort of response. I tried to email several more times but still no response.in a last ditch effort I contacted the branch in the UK to see if they could forward me to someone higher up in the chain. They were very polite but were unable to help because it is a distributor in the US that they are not affiliated with.

All I want is for my motherboard to be either replaced or refunded. I don't understand how a company that sells so much could rip off a guy like me. Help!
