Universal Van Lines
Theft of $12,000.00, extortion & blackmail

Universal Van Lines president - Colette Goodman, did commit and/or responsible for a series of crimes involving the shipment of our household belongings.

1. Theft of over $12,000.00 in artwork, silverware, new appliances and liqour stolen from our household belongings in her care and control.

2. Her staff disappeared with the truck of our belongings for about 3 1/2 hours after I cleared my goods through customs.

3. The goods later delivered had been opened and damaged. They also mixed up our belongings with a third party's possessions on the same truck.

4. They extorted, blackmailed us into giving them more money upon arrival, or they were refusing to give us our belongings.
(the police informed us that we should have called them immediately when this extortion took place, even though just a few hundered $.)

5.. They provided false weigh bills and have refused to provide true weigh bills.

6. Their partner in crime is TRANSCONTINENTAL MOVERS (Montreal Canada). Their General Manager - Amellio (no last name provided), was evasive then very abusive on the phone.

7. We listened to their lies for 7 weeks as they allegedly investigated losses, over charges, false invoices and damaged goods. We then contacted police, and they are now being investigated for a multitude of interantional criminal activities.

8. Beware - I thought that they were ligitimate, but I was wrong. Subsequent investigatin has shown that they are subject to many other complaints of similar nature, and may close up shop and re-open under anew name.
