I became a customer in August. I signed up for all the bells and whistles including a 'heat manager' which the salesman assured me would save me quite a bit of oil every year. I signed an agreement to accept this gizmo (which I am still unsure did anything) that said, among other things, that if I stopped being an automatic delivery customer that:
1- I would have to unistall this contraption and bring it back to them,
2- Pay $500 to keep it or,
3- pay 2 hours labor at the prevailing rates to have them take it out.

Everything went smoothly until I sold my house. They then informed me that this was considered as 'no longer being an automatic delivery customer' and the above applied. I spoke with a woman in their credit and billing department and she very rudely advised 'it's very clear in the contract, didn't you read it?' I tried to tell her that it wasn't like I was dropping them and switching, I was selling my house. She was totally unconcerned and continually rude. I asked her what this was going to cost to have it removed and she told me $200 dollars. I told them to come and get it.

When the technician came he, unlike the woman in billing, was at least sympathetic. I asked him what the prevailing labor rates were and he advised me $75 dollars. It took him all of 5 minutes to take the 'het manager' out.

Now, I get a bill for $275 dollars to take out this piece of garbage.instead of the $200 I was told by billing, or the $150 it would be if the technician was correct, they want $275! I emailed them and asked what their labor rates are. A guy named Adam Busker got back to me and said " Normal Business Hour Rates for Billable Service is $110 for the 1st Half Hour and $110 for each hour after rounded to the nearest quarter hour at $27.50 per quarter hour.
"!!! Holy cow!!! Coincidentally, this come to $275 for 2 hours. I ahd a credit on my account so they applied the $275 against it and now I'm pretty much screwed. However, you are warned about their OUTRAGEOUS labor rates and the screwing you'll get if you take this 'heat manager' piece of garbage when you sign up.
