Don't be Fooled

Scott came into my business. Friendly guy. He was selling ads in Trivia Booklets to be placed in Restaurants. It is perfect while your meal is being prepared to be relaxing and reading. Kind-of-fun. My ad would be from Palo Alto to Redwood City.

If I was to sign up that day, I would get $ 30 off the price. I went for it. I had to give him half the payment that day ($ 218). The rest would be paid when the booklets went out.

My job was to write up the ad. I had to fax them my ad THAT weekend, so it would go out in the next issue.

They were then to send you the proof. I never received it. I didn't know if it was too late and maybe going out in the next issue (in three months). So, I let it slide.

I then received a bill. I didn't pay this because I did not see the proof.
Since then I have recieved late charge of $ 25.00.

I called Scott and he said he would take care of it IF I send the check out. I said I could not send any money out until I see the ad. I, also, let him I have read of other consumer complaints. His response was that - you always have complaints in business and we take care of them "as we will take care of you".

Scott gave me a list of businesses to check out. I have called and gone to all of them. Not one of them had the ads nor did they know what I was talking about. Scott reassured me and gave me another list of businesses. I called THOSE businesses and had the same response (along with some who mentioned they thought it was a good idea).

Today I received another bill with another $ 25.00 late payment.
Now it is $ 50 late payment with nothing to show for it.
