Telemarketer slamming

On August 1 a telemarketer came to my residence representing AT&T to check on my services with AT&T. After a brief conversation, I told the telemarketer I did not want to change any of my current services.

The following day, I received an email from AT&T thanking me for upgrading my DSL internet service. My next telephone bill indicated that my service had been changed without my authorization or request and I was charged for a upgraded service I had not ordered. Other rebates were discontinued after this change.

I sent a letter of complaint to the Customer Care Center Appeals Office in Kennesaw, Georgia.

I also reported the matter to a local TV station WTLV CHANNEL 12 in Jacksonville, Florida and was video interviewed. After the video appeared on the evening news the following day I received a call from Mrs. Ruth Wagner, Consumer Appeals Specialist at AT&T in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Mrs. Wagner told me she would resolve my complaint and would initiate an investigation of the telemarketer.

I have made several attempts to get my telephone bill adjusted to the previous status without success. I continue to complain and now Mrs. Wagner will not return my calls. I also was told by someone answering the phone at the Customer Care Center that Mrs. Wagner was on the phone and she would get my message and call me. She has not called.

My October telehone bill shows I am still being charged for the service I never authorized and I cannot get anyone at AT&T to resolve this problem.

My telephone service was changed without my permission or signature and I am being charged for something I did not authorize and AT&T refuses to correct their mistake.
