O'Rourke Promotional Marketing is just a new name and location for North Star Marketing, also known as Smart Circle Inc

I have been in sales for 8 years. I was contacted about the opportunity to work with a marketing firm known as North Star Marketing in February. I found that after having my first face to face interview, that they would like for me to come back the following day for a second interview that would take the entire day and see if this company would suit me.

The following day they had me in a parking lot "job shadowing" a gentleman that ended up asking me for gas money to put in his 94 Ford Explorer that had bad tags, and had me help him sell entertainment books. I ended up in a location away from the main office, and had to call my wife to pick me up, and take me back to my vehicle.

Come to find out, they were a 3rd party marketing agency, and wanted me to "work my way up the coorperate ladder" by starting out at the bottom just like everyone else.

This month I hessitently went for an interview with a very similar sounding marketing company by a different name. This time it was O'Rourke Promotional Marketing company. The person that I spoke with by phone, (she went by the name of Staci Talent) guaranteed me that this company was not a multi level marketing company, and that I would find out more at my interview the following day.

After I met with the company for my interview, I began to recognize a very similar pitch for their company. They were based out of Canada, and work with major league baseball teams such as the Oakland Athletics, and home improvement leads for Home Depot. At this point I asked if this was Smart Circle, and the gentleman responded, "yes." I then dismissed myself, as did the 5 other people in line behind me waiting for an interview.

Please be aware that this company conducts illegal multi level marketing schemes, and has been sited several times under the inital name of Smart Circle, as well as several others including North Star Marketing. Do not waist your time, they are not a professional marketing firm, and this "job opportunity" will get you know where, unless you enjoy selling things in parking lots to mothers pushing their children in shopping carts!
