Rob Lamb, Hey I Thought Of That! Inc
Fraudulant Inventor Promotion Consultant, Complete Scam-Artist: Advanced fee scam, keeps you "hooked" by enthusiastic emails and promises. New Port Richey, Tampa, Trinity

This individual claims know the invention industry inside and out. He also claims to be the inventor of the "boogie-board leash", which is a device similar to what surfers use to tether themselves to their surfboards. He claims he has been an avid inventor since he was 15. There has been at least one patent application submitted to the U.S. Patent office in 2006 under his own name-not for a client.

He will have you sign a confidentiality agreement and make you feel extremely safe in disclosing your idea or invention to him. He will then call you within a couple of days and report that a "detailed search" has concluded that there are many opportunities in many markets for your product. He will then ask for an upfront fee and explains that this fee will cover everything from product design and development to marketing and distribution. This fee is also 100% refundable if the project is deemed unsatisfactory by either party at any time. His agreement claims all monies as well as all products, prototypes, and documents of the project will be returned to the client at the dissolve of the agreement if the product is deemed unsatisfactory.

Other than enthusiastic emails there is nothing at all he will do for you except take your money. When asked for documentation on the patent search, applications, or any other progress on my ideas I was sent a scanned copy of a "cover-sheet" for a provisional patent application. It was filled out improperly so, I called the U.S. Patent office and learned that nothing had been filed or even received. Purchase orders for prototypes were also furnished but further investigation on my part proved that the companies from which the prototypes were ordered from did not even exist!

When further asked about details of the progress of my ideas or details of documents he claimed to provide, Mr. Lamb (aka Rob) would claim he was out of town working on the project, meeting with important people who were helping get the project done, etc. As time went on he would only communicate by e-mail, then later it was only by text messaging, usually stating that he was having trouble with his phone and could not retrieve your message, and that he would call you when he got back in town. He would not respond to voicemails at all. Although he would usually acknowledge your inquiring e-mails, he would constantly respond with messages stating that he would be contacting you soon to discuss your progress report.

After a month or two of this back and forth, and finding out the U.S. Patent office had never received anything on my behalf, I finally decided to dissolve the project and ask for my advanced fees to be returned. Although Mr. Lamb would acknowledge that I was sending a message to him regarding the termination of my projects, I only received messages stating I can't see message on phone. Will have to check it on my pc when I get in! I re-sent the message for two more days and received nothing. Not even an acknowledgement. After that I considered our agreement breached and I am now posting my experience here.

Through a public record search in my own county as well as surrounding counties I uncovered that I am one of at least 8 victims of Mr. Rob Lamb and his Company Hey, I thought of That! Inc.

His Company is a Nevada Registered company and as of July 08 is in delinquent status. There was no business license found for Florida.

Beware, stay away, and don't be sold by this man's words and promises. Do a public records search for yourself and get informed on anyone you choose to do business with.
