Kitchen 64
Bad service

Kitchen 64 is located around the corner from my home, so my partner and I eat there frequently. We get consistently bad service, but because of the convenience factor, we keep going back. We're done with that, and so are most of our neighbors, two of whom swear they actually got food poisoning after eating there two weeks ago.

Last night we called in a carry-out order of baked spaghetti and a grilled cheese sandwich. We were told it would be ready in twenty minutes. When we arrived to pick it up, twenty five minutes later, we sat at the bar for a full half-hour while we waited for our food. At one point, it was sitting on the counter getting cold for ten minutes while we tried to flag down a waiter to hand it to us, since we had already paid. When we got home we had wasted a full hour on food that was ice-cold, greasy, and basically gross. The last time we tried to eat inside the restaurant we were seated after a short wait, and no server ever showed up at our table. Not so much as a "I'll be with you as soon as I can." We got up and left after twenty minutes, and when we told the hostess why, she shrugged her shoulders at us.

We understand that the place is jam-packed every day. But either hire more staff or learn to be honest about the lengthy delays that customers can expect. Frankly, the food isn't worth the hassle of going there to eat. I know that its not worth paying attention to a complaint like this when you run a restaurant that is obviously making a lot of money, but we live in this neighborhood and we were really excited about Kitchen 64 opening up. We have never ever complained about restaurant service before, but we are just too irritated to let it go at this point. One or two bad experiences is fine, but six or seven? I'll take my future business to Northside restaurants that appreciate it.
